We are excited to return to The Heirloom at N.K. Hurst, a beautifully restored 19th-century gem that once housed a bustling printing company and later the N.K. Hurst Co. Inc. This year’s event promises to be an unforgettable evening as we celebrate the close of another successful year with BOMA Indiana. Cocktail attire is highly encouraged but not required.
Special Highlights:
-
Keynote Speakers: We are honored to feature an exclusive conversation with Jake Query and Dr. Eugene White, two individuals whose lives intersected at North Central High School. Jake, a student on the brink of losing his way, found a mentor in Dr. White, whose guidance helped shape his future. Their story exemplifies the profound impact mentorship can have on our lives—especially as we approach the season of giving and reflection. Despite their different backgrounds, Jake and Dr. White share a commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
-
Celebrate Excellence: Join us as we recognize outstanding members with our Member Awards, announce exciting plans for 2025, and reflect on the power of mentorship within our community.
About Our Speakers:
Dr. Eugene White has an illustrious career in education administration, becoming the first Black principal of North Central High School in Indianapolis in 1990. He has served as deputy superintendent and later superintendent of IPS, as well as superintendent of Washington Township Schools. Dr. White is the only Indiana school superintendent to have received the AASA’s Superintendent of the Year award twice—once for a suburban district and once for an urban district. Before retiring in 2019, he served as president of Martin University, a predominantly Black private institution in Indianapolis’s Martindale-Brightwood neighborhood.
Jake Query began his journey with the INDYCAR Radio Network as a pit reporter for the 2007 Indy 500. After various roles in 2008, Jake joined the network full-time in 2009. He is now a turn announcer for all Indianapolis Motor Speedway events, alternating between turns and the pits for other NTT INDYCAR SERIES races. Jake also co-hosts a morning sports talk show on The Fan and contributes to NBC Sports Network broadcasts for the Indy Lights.
